Gretchen von Cheviot is an enchanting 12 month old German Shepherd. She is going to be on the smaller side, our best guess is about 55 pounds. She is a plush coat, with almost no undercoat, so she will not shed much at all. She is kind and gentle and so loving. Gretchen is so appreciative of anything from a bowl of water, to her dinner or some attention, her tail just keeps wagging. She is wonderful with other dogs both male and female. She had a good cat test, which we always like to repeat. Gretchen walks right next to you on a leash and doesn’t pull, every once in a while she would like to try walking between your legs, so we are working on that. Gretchen has learned to go down stairs; going up stairs is too scary. Her foster dad carries her upstairs when it is time for bed. She sleeps in her wire crate with her faux sheep skin bed and doesn’t make a sound all night. Gretchen will alert bark if something seems wrong, but mostly she is very quiet. She has a special place on the cool bricksd where she likes to hang out during the day. The door to the house is always open for her and she comes in to check on things. Gretchen is a super easy dog, 5 minutes after arriving at her foster home it was as if she had always lived there. She loves women and men and visitors and babies, there is nothing but wonderful things to say about Gretchen. Her foster dad is waiting for the day she gets the stairs but other than that you can’t find better than Gretchen.
